One thing we knew from the start of launching Brown Bag Lit was that we wanted to offer more than writing classes. We want to offer a community. And we want that community to be accessible to all writers. We are so excited to announce the launch of Lunch Break Writers!

What is it?

Lunch Break Writers is a weekly accountability group. The concept is simple: we’ll gather together once a week on Zoom for 90 minutes (every Wednesday, 12pm-1:30pm EST). We’ll spend the first fifteen minutes setting goals and sharing updates, then we’ll spend one hour writing in silence together (cameras off or on - the choice is yours but most people turn their camera off) before checking back in with each other for the final fifteen minutes. You can come for the entire 90 minutes or pop in late and leave early if you need to.

This accountability group will serve as a safe space where you can set goals, share your progress, and —most importantly— establish a habit of writing so you can make progress on your writing projects. These weekly meetings will help you stay focused and motivated.

What it’s not: This group is not a critique group and we won’t share our work with each other. There won’t be any prompts so you’re free to write whatever you want.

Where is it? Lunch Break writing sessions take place via Zoom. Our member area is hosted at Buy Me a Coffee. After you register, you’ll have access to the Zoom link on our Buy Me a Coffee site.

Do I have to wait for the 1st of the month to join? Nope! Registration is rolling so you can join anytime! No need to wait until the first a month.

Will my membership auto renew each month? Yes, memberships will auto renew each month (based on the date you joined) unless you cancel.

Can I cancel anytime? Yes, of course. While we hope you’ll want to continue writing together, you can cancel or pause your membership through your Buy Me a Coffee account at any time.
